About me
I’m Cristina Dekle, a children’s book illustrator based in Atlanta.
My work is inspired by quiet moments, memory, and the emotional worlds of childhood. I’m drawn to stories that explore connection, imagination, and the small details that often carry the most meaning. Through soft color palettes and gentle, expressive characters, I aim to create images that feel warm, thoughtful, and emotionally resonant.
I hold a background in education and a Master’s degree in Creative Writing, which deeply influences how I approach visual storytelling. I’m especially interested in stories that support children’s emotional development and reflect themes of love, loss, and belonging.
I have illustrated several children’s books, including Sol, the Shining Colt, Samson the Grumbly Dog Meets Lily, and The Tales of Torily. I am currently developing original author-illustrated projects, including Milo, a story about how love and memory are woven through the threads that connect us across generations.
I am available for illustration projects and would love to collaborate on meaningful stories.
